Physiotherapy, Massage and Sports Injury Clinic serving Leatherhead and the surrounding areas

Visiting Physiotherapy Care

Visiting physiotherapy care is carried out by our lead physio Laura and provides suitable home-based exercises, allowing you to maintain your independent lifestyle. The service will not involve providing personal care, such as taking an individual to a medical appointment or to the shops.

Visiting physiotherapy care is an individually devised physiotherapy programme. Specific outcomes may include:

  • improving mobility following a period of illness or hospital stay.
  • enabling an individual to maintain their physical strength through a tailored program including chair based exercises, exercises around the home, walking practice with or without a walking aid, or a walk around the garden.
  • enabling an individual to maintain or improve their manual dexterity to be able to retain their independence to do up or undo buttons, or carry on with a hobby; to that end, exercises may be slower and may involve activities like playing cards, draughts or completing a jigsaw.

Clients are typically older and this service can provide reassurance to you and your loved ones, by providing regular visits and the opportunity for Laura to liaise with relatives who may live farther away. It is also an opportunity for relatives to have some respite in the knowledge that a skilled medical worker is spending time with their loved one performing beneficial activities.

On the first visit (charged at £85) a 60 minute assessment is carried out to determine the individual's physiotherapy exercise plan. Sessions are then booked in blocks of 4-6, each at £50 for 45 minutes. Initially this will be 2-3 visits per week over a 2-3 week period allowing for intense rehabilitation treatment, with the option of weekly or fortnightly follow-up sessions as needed, for as long as required. Sessions can continue for those wanting monitoring or on-going visiting physiotherapy care.

The main areas we cover are Ashtead, Leatherhead, Effingham, Bookham and Fetcham. Home visits in the Horsley and Bramley areas may also be available at the start and end of the clinic day.

Locations outside of the ones listed above may incur an additional travel supplement. Please contact us to discuss.
